At the May 20 meeting of the NCED’s Community Advisory Committee, the CAC members reviewed the applications for the Community Partner mini-grants. The group made the following decisions:
- Galena High School CLS Class was awarded $1,000 for its community vocational outings
- RAGE was awarded $1,000 for its Independent Living/Assistive Technology Inventory Program and $1,000 for its Public Assistance Program
- The Sierra Association of Foster Families was awarded $1,000 for its academic mentoring project for youth with developmental disabilities and $1,000 for its violence prevention project for teens with developmental disabilities.

Also at the May 20 meeting, CAC co-chairs were elected. Tiffany Hunter from Stagecoach, NV, was re-elected for a second term. Kenneth Taycher from Las Vegas was elected to his first term as a CAC co-chair.
